Solution

To insert an overbar character use one of the following methods:

Enter a ` (Grave accent) character in symbol font (this character is the key to the left of the '1' key on a typical keyboard. On a UK keyboard it has three different characters shown on the key, including the Grave Accent, on a US keyboard it only has 2 characters shown)
Select symbol font and then use the keyboard sequence Alt+9+6, note you must use the number keys key on the num pad.
Enter the expression text format code \60 and use the Tedds Format expression text command to convert the expression text to formatted text

Note: When an overbar character is inserted the actual glyph is drawn over the next character therefore you will always get what appears to be a blank character space before the character that has the overbar.
