As per the notes for the calculation, the program calculates the required tension reinforcement provided between two pile heads only. Thus for a 3 (and 4) pile cap this is not the total amount of steel in the pile cap. It is left to the engineer to decide how to detail the reinforcement and the calculation does not do this. The Notes of the calculation state as follows:
"The calculation for tension reinforcement is based on the truss analogy method. Reinforcement provided is calculated for one truss member between two pile heads."
