How do I work with the Tedds Engineering Libraries?

The extensive range of calculations in Tedds are arranged in Engineering Libraries so that you can access content that is most appropriate to the project you are currently working on.

• UK - Eurocodes and British Standards with variations to the UK & Ireland
• Asia – Eurocodes and British Standards with variations to suit Singapore & Malaysia
• USA – US codes
• Europe - Eurocodes
• Australia – Australian codes
• Canada – Canadian codes
• Common – non-code specific calculations

The content of the Common Engineering Library is also included in all the other Libraries

Selecting a different Engineering Library

To change Engineering Library choose the relevant Locale from the Home ribbon in Tedds or the Tedds ribbon in Tedds for Word. The ‘Tedds calculations’ list will update instantly and so will the regional settings for base units.

Using multiple Engineering Libraries

The background settings associated with each Locale (base units for example) are fundamental to how Tedds performs calculations so you should not mix calculations from different Engineering Libraries in the same document.

If you open a document created using a different Locale than the current setting you will be warned about this

If you try to calculate a document based on a different Locale you will be able to switch to the correct Locale before the calc is run.

Engineering Updates Regular updates are released for Tedds and you will be notified that they are available Tekla Update Service. New content, enhancements and fixes for all the Engineering Libraries will be included in a single update file.
