Tekla Online services use Trimble Identity for identification. In addition to Tekla services, you can use your Trimble Identity with several other Trimble services, such as Trimble Connect and SketchUp 3D Warehouse.
Trimble Identity provides single-sign-on access for Tekla Online services. You can sign in one service and then browse to another online service without a need to log in again. Find the services landing page here: http://www.tekla.com/services
Use Trimble Identity also when signing in to Tekla Structures, Tekla Model Sharing and Tekla Field3D.
How do I create a Trimble Identity?
To create a Trimble Identity, go to Tekla Online services and click Log in. From the Trimble Identity login page, click on Create new Trimble ID. Enter your information. You will get an email asking you to set your password. Click the link in the email to finish creating your Trimble Identity.
I have created a Trimble Identity but cannot log in. Why?
It is likely that your Trimble Identity is not verified. When you create a Trimble Identity, you receive an email to set the password of the Trimble Identity to the e-mail address you registered. Click the link in the email to set the password. After that, you can use your Trimble Identity.
I have forgotten my Trimble Identity password
On the Trimble Identity sign in page, select Forgot password?
Fill in your email address, and click the Reset password button.
Check your email inbox for email from Trimble Identity service. In the email message, click the Reset password button to set a new password for your Trimble Identity.
You can access Trimble Identity sign in page from all Tekla Online services by selecting the Login button on the upper right corner, or in Tekla Structures, select Forgot your password? from the sign in window.
I tried to reset my password but Trimble Identity does not recognize my email address and asks me to enter a valid email address.
If the spelling of the email address is correct, this means that you don’t currently have a Trimble Identity with it. Click the Create new Trimble ID link on the sign in page, and proceed to create the Trimble Identity.
I do not receive any emails from Trimble Identity, neither do my colleagues. What is wrong?
It is likely your company’s email firewall is stopping emails from arriving. Please contact your IT department and ask them to allow emails from *@trimble.com and *@trimblepaas.com and *@mail.trimblepaas.com.
I used to have a Tekla Account with my email address, but it is not in Trimble Identity. What happened?
It is likely your Tekla Account was not verified. Unverified accounts were not migrated to Trimble Identity. Please click Create new Trimble ID in the Trimble Identity sign in page, and create a Trimble Identity with your email address.
Once you sign in to Tekla Online services with your new Trimble Identity, it will be automatically connected to the Tekla Account you had with the same email address.
I had a Trimble Identity but with a different email address than in my Tekla Account. Which account should I use now?
A new Trimble Identity got created for you in the transition. The new Trimble Identity and your old Trimble Identity could not be merged because of the different email addresses.
You can use your old Trimble Identity to sign in to Tekla Online services, but in that case you are considered as brand new user. As a new user, you do not have organization memberships or licenses you may have had earlier.
I have created a Trimble Identity for Trimble Connect earlier. It works fine with Trimble Connect, but not with Tekla Online services. What can I do?
It is likely your Trimble Identity was created through Google federation in the Trimble Connect sign in page. These social login Trimble Identities are not supported in Tekla Online services yet.
You need to reset your Trimble Identity password with the Forgot password? functionality. After that, you can use your Trimble Identity to connect to both Tekla Online services and Trimble Connect.
I received an email asking me to join an organization. What is this?
This means that your company’s Tekla administrator has added you to your company’s Organization in Tekla Online services. Usually this is the company you work for. Click the link to join the organization. If your organization has a maintenance contract with Trimble, you get access to all Tekla online content.
I received an email asking me to join a group. What is this?
This means that an administrator has added you to a user group. By belonging to a user group, you get access to features and services. Click the link to join the group.
I received an email asking me join as external user to organization. What is this?
This means that the administrator of the company has added you as an external user in order to be able to share licenses and accesses to you. Click the link to join the organization as an external user.
I deleted the email asking me to join an organization. What do I do now?
Click the symbol at the upper right corner of any Tekla Online service. Then click My profile to view your information. You can see the request in the profile under Invitations.
Can I belong to more than one organization?
No, you can only belong to one organization at a time. This is the organization whose name is displayed as Company on your profile.
How do I change my profile information?
Click the symbol at the upper right corner of any Tekla Online service. Then click My profile to view and edit your information.
Can I change my email address?
You can change your email address. However, we recommend that you use your company email address.
What does the Preferred language option do?
Preferred language option is used to set the language of Tekla Online services where this functionality is available. If you do not set a language, or select one that is not supported in a particular service, English is used.
Who administers the user accounts?
Your company’s Tekla administrator administers your organization's user accounts and accesses in Tekla Online services.
I am an administrator. How do I access the Tekla Online Admin Tool?
On your profile page, click the Access Admin Tool button. Contact your local Tekla support if you need assistance.
I am an administrator. How do I invite users to my organization?
In the Tekla Online Admin tool, you can use the Invite employees button to open a dialog where you specify the email addresses of the employees you would like to invite to your organization

What happened to Tekla Online services?
Nothing happened. Only the sign in changed.
What happened to my Tekla Account?
Nothing happened to your Tekla Account. The basic Tekla Account details were transferred to the Trimble Identity service and a new Trimble Identity was created.
You received an email explaining that your Tekla Account is now Trimble Identity. The email contained a link to page for setting the password of the new identity. After setting the password, you can sign in to Tekla Online services with your Trimble Identity.
What happened if I had a Trimble Identity with the same email as in my Tekla Account before the transition?
During the transition, your old Trimble Identity was updated with the information transferred from the Tekla Account service. The accounts were merged if the email address was the same.
What happened if I had a Trimble Identity with another email as in my Tekla Account before the transition?
A new Trimble Identity with the email address used in your Tekla Account was created.
If you use your new Trimble Identity to sign in to Tekla Online services, you will get the same access rights as before the transition.
What happened if my Tekla Account was not verified or if it contained invalid data?
Nothing happened. Unverified Tekla Accounts and Tekla Accounts with invalid data were not transferred to the Trimble Identity service.
What happened in Tekla Model Sharing during the transition?
Nothing happened. The Tekla Account service was not available during the transition, therefore users couldn’t login to Tekla Model Sharing service. Only offline usage was possible.
