Steel member analysis & design (EN1993)

Significant improvements to simplify the user interface and improve the overall user experience. The user interface has also been optimized to improve performance when updating design results. Options for the analysis output have been simplified and a summary table of the key design results can also be included.

Steel sheet piling design (EN1997)

New calculation which checks the stability of either a cantilever or a propped/tied steel sheet pile wall by determining the required minimum embedment length and calculating the minimum required plastic section modulus per metre run of wall. Where appropriate the calculation will determine the tie/prop force. In accordance with EN1992 and the National Annexes for the UK, Ireland, Singapore or the recommended Eurocode values.

Steel sheet piling design (BS8002)

New version of the calculation which has been completely rewritten to incorporate the update to BS8002:2015 in conjunction with BS EN1997-1:2004 and the UK and Irish National Annexes.

Lintel analysis (BS5977)

Enhanced to allow for more flexibility when defining the arrangements of openings. Point loads can also now be included with openings. The user interface has been updated to improve the overall user experience and the output has been improved to include clearer design details, with the option to use a shorter summary version.

Batch design

Enhanced to include an option to send the variables and output for each design case to Tedds for Word. Also added the ability to batch design a subset of all the defined design cases.

2D analysis

Fixed output tables not listing element numbers correctly if the model had been modified and an element other than the last element had previously been deleted.

Batch design

Enhanced so that if a requested output variable doesn't exist the text "Undefined" will be used rather than an error being reported.
Minimize Excel when option to show user interface of calculation is enabled to ensure that user interface is not behind Excel window.
Foundation analysis & design (EN1992/EN1997)
Corrected expression error associated with foundations with highly eccentric base reactions.

Lintel analysis (BS5977)

Updated calculation to utilise the 2D analysis calculation.
Fixed issue relating to floor or roofs loads not being calculated correctly when openings above the lintel are included. For more detailed information please refer to "Product bulletin February 2017 (PBT-1702-4)" in the Bulletins group of the Engineering Library Index.

Enhanced output to include the option to include a summary table of key results similar to what is shown in the user interface preview results.
Enhanced to incorporate simplified analysis output options.
Fixed zone length validation so zero length zones cannot be specified where a length is required. If a previous calculation is recalculated the calculation will change the zone length to greater than zero and a warning message will display.
Fixed an undefined variable error when tabular output was selected.
Fixed undefined variable error when designing a member with ten or more spans.
Fixed an error where z used for the calculation of shear stress was being taken as h in some cases.

Timber connection design (EN1995

Fixed issue for the nail data lists.
Fixed issue for the main to side member connection when using screws, the moment calculation was using the incorrect variable for tensile strength.
Fixed issue for the main to side member and tension splice calculation, the withdrawal capacity and pull-through resistance was multiplied by the effective number of fixings.

Corrected the value of available lateral-torsional strength, Mcx, used to calculate the combined flexure and compression utilisation using equation H1-2.
