When Signing In to my application, the License Manager opens with a message about an invalid token - what should I do?

Problem

When I launch my application and Sign In, the Software License Manager opens with the Status message "The token is invalid" or "No valid cached token was found".

Information

This issue generally happens because the token stored in your system to verify your license is either corrupt or expired, thus preventing the Sign In process from completing fully.  This can be for a number of reasons including the computer clock being incorrect.

Possible Solution(s)

Solution 1 - Computer clock time

Check the time and date of your PC (System Settings > Date and time settings) - the token is stamped with this date and time and if the PC clock is out by more than 5 mins you will get one of the above errors.  Simply correct your computer's time to resolve the issue.

Solution 2 - Clear Cookies

Clearing Cookies for the following domains should remove the invalid token allowing the Sign In process to work.

How to clear my Cookies:

For Tedds 2020

  • Type "internet options" in the Start > Search

  • Open the Internet Options dialog and click the Delete button

  • Ensure "Cookies and website data" is selected - if you have trimble.com or tekla.com in your favourites you will also have to ensure the Preserve Favorites website data is unchecked

  • Click Delete

Please Note: This will remove all Cookies from Internet Explorer and you may need to login to other sites again.
