I have a mix of both Sentinel RMS Server licenses and new Subscription Licenses (Tekla Online) - how should I configure the license settings?

Background The Tekla Structural Design programs (Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Portal Frame and Tekla Connection Designer) now support two licensing methods: Sentinel RMS - existing licensing method used by product releases before 2020 Tekla Online License - new licensing method introduced in the 2020 product releases and applicable to all licenses purchased from March 11th 2020 onward.   If you are an existing customer with licenses purchased before March 11th 2020 (perpetual licenses) and you have purchased new licenses after March 11th (subscription licenses), you may now have

Tekla Structural Design 2020 installation fails with Error:2 The system cannot find the file specified and/ or Error: 5 Access is denied. This setup will now exit!

Issue The installation of Tekla Structural Design 2020 fails with the following errors: Error: 2 The system cannot find the file specified.  This setup will now exit! Error: 5 Access is denied.  This setup will now exit Solution This is caused by a conflict with an Anti-virus (AV) program which is interfering with the installation.  So far two AV programs BitDefender and BullGuard have been found to cause this issue but others may also.  The solution is to temporarily disable the AV program then try the installation again. You may need to reboot, then disable the AV program then try the

Frequently asked questions: Analysis and Design subscription licensing

General What is the difference between a subscription license and a perpetual license? The core difference between the two is that a subscription is priced on a yearly basis and is an on-going subscription that includes support, upgrades, and access to the online services. A perpetual software license is paid up-front. A yearly maintenance fee then grants access to support and upgrades. Subscription products and licenses What subscription products are available? All Tekla products can be purchased as subscription. Products sold as annual recurring subscriptions are: Tekla Tedds Tekla

The Tekla Online side panel in Tedds for Word indicates I'm not signed in, even though I signed in and checked "Stay signed in" when I launched it. I am using Tekla Online Licensing. Why is this?

Issue I am using Tekla Online Licensing so, when I first ran Tedds for Word, I signed in and checked the "Stay signed in" option.  Tedds for Word opens fine, however it still says "Log in" at the top of the Tekla Online side panel as shown in the picture below.  When I click "Log in" I am signed in, but when I run Tedds for Word the next time I need to sign in again.  What can I do to fix it? Resolution Our Developers are aware of this issue and are working on a permanent fix.  In the meantime it can be resolved by downloading and running the attached registry file following the steps given

Force diagrams displayed incorrectly when printed to PDF

Issue I have run one of the 2D Analysis calculations from the Tedds Engineering Library and created my output document including some force diagrams such as the ones shown below. However when I print my Tedds document to PDF, the force diagrams are displayed incorrectly with solid blocks of colour as shown below. What is the cause of this? And how do I fix it? Cause The issue is caused by the PDF Printer/Creator being used, rather than Tedds itself.  You can see this is the case because the diagrams are displayed correctly within Tedds – the issue only appears when printing the Tedds
