Masonry bearing design (EN1996)

This video demonstrates the Masonry bearing design calculation to the Eurocode. The calculation checks the bearing design of concentrated vertical loads and allows multiple loads to be applied to a single masonry wall panel. The calculation checks the localized bearing resistance of the masonry directly beneath the load and will determine if a spreader is required. The spreader can be designed as either a concrete padstone or a steel spreader plate.

Precast concrete stair design (EN1992) 

This video demonstrates the Tekla Tedds precast concrete stair design calculation to the Eurocode. The calculation checks the design of a reinforced straight flight, spanning longitudinally between supports at the top and the bottom of the flight and unsupported at the sides. Supporting beams are located at the outside edges of the landings. The calculation allows for the design of a single precast reinforced concrete unit. A lifting check is included where a lower strength of concrete can be selected and various factors added to account for de-moulding and lifting.

Precast concrete beam design (EN1992)

This video demonstrates the Tekla Tedds precast concrete beam design calculation. The calculation checks the design of rectangular, T, inverted L, inverted T and L beam sections, subject to major axis bending, torsion and shear. A transverse bending check on the flange outstand and shear between the web and flange are included for T and inverted L beams and a boot check is included for L and inverted T beams.

Wood shear wall design (NDS)

This video demonstrates the Tekla Tedds Wood shear wall design calculation. This calculation determines the capacity of wood structural panel and lumber sheathed shear walls acting as elements of a lateral force resisting system in accordance with the design provision contained within the ANSI/AF&PA Special Design Provisions for Wind and Seismic. It allows both allowable stress design (ASD) and load resistance factor design (LRFD) using either the segmented or perforated shear wall design methods.
